Over 13 years of chiropractic practice, I've seen a lot of patients who suffer from migraines.  They can be incredibly difficult to get rid of with conventional medical treatments, which basically amount to medications to either prevent them from occurring or reducing them when they appear.  Both of these options are only covering up the symptom of pain, instead of actually getting to the root of the problem.  Unfortunately, these medications have such a long list of side effects it would take me a full page to list them.

Can chiropractic help with vertigo?

I recently treated a patient who had severe vertigo following a flight on a plane.  When she got off the plane she was so dizzy that she could hardly walk.  Her entire vacation was ruined due to the fact she was so dizzy she couldn't do much of anything without losing her balance.  When she came to our office a week later, she still was suffering the exact same symptoms that she had when she first got off the plane.

While I was evaluating her, I checked out her upper neck vertebrae and muscles to see how they felt.  The little pressure I used to check those areas made her so nauseous that she thought she was going to be sick.  That confirmed to me that the problem was in those first few vertebrae and an adjustment would have a powerful effect.

Often times the upper cervical vertebrae and inner ears are responsible for vertigo symptoms.  I address these by adjusting both the vertebrae and ears, yes, I do adjust ears too.  The adjustment produces improved motion and normalizes the nervous system in those areas and brings about an improvement in the vertigo symptoms.  The patient I mentioned above saw immediate improvement in her symptoms following her first ever chiropractic adjustment.  When I saw her for her second visit, she was nearly symptom free already.

If you or anyone you know has vertigo, get in contact with us and we'd be happy to answer any questions and provide relief of these annoying symptoms.
